Mammal Senses

Mammals like every other living being needs to have an input from their environment so that they can respond accordingly and effectively.Everyone needs to perceive the world they are living in and for this purpose senses are very essential. The senses are known to be of five different flavours, but in mammals there are more than the usual five- the unusual sense!
It is proved that bad weather, and natural disasters like tremors, flood, volcanoes can be detected buy the mammals before it approaches. The reason for this is that as the turbulence approaches they pick up low frequency sounds developing in the air. Another suggestion is that the can sense vibrations travelling through the earth. A number of mammals actually communicate using vibrations travelling through the earth (i.e. Mole-rats). Whether this is sound detection touch sensation I am uncertain.
